Delete Your Account — The Battle Within

To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, please provide:

• The email address associated with your Battle Within account, and
• A clear statement that you want your account (and associated personal data) deleted.

We will confirm receipt of your request and process it in accordance with applicable law. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

When your account deletion is processed, the personal data and user-generated content associated with your account will be permanently removed, including:

• Profile and account information: your name, email address, role, optional profile photo, language preference, and authentication data.
• Recovery tracking data: substances you are recovering from, recovery start dates, milestones, and tracker entries.
• Journal and check-in data: journal entries, daily check-in responses, mood and craving records, and private notes.
• Course and workbook progress: workbook responses, course responses and progress, 12-step reflections, and reading progress.
• Connections: facilitator connections, peer connections, sharing permissions, and connection requests.
• Messages: direct messages and conversations you have participated in (to the extent they relate to your account).
• Wellness activity data: optional fitness/movement logs, nutrition and hydration entries, and related reflections.
• Support contacts: personal contacts you have added for quick access.
• Settings and preferences: reminder settings, notification preferences, and other app settings tied to your account.

This deletion is subject to any information that we are legally required to retain, such as records related to an active safety report, legal obligation, or as required by applicable law. Once retained information is no longer legally required to be kept, it will also be deleted.

You can also initiate account deletion directly from inside The Battle Within app:

• Open The Battle Within app and sign in to your account.
• Go to Profile (Settings).
• Scroll to the Delete account section.
• Tap Delete My Account and Data and follow the on-screen confirmation steps.

In-app deletion removes the same data described above. If you no longer have access to the app or your signed-in device, you may request deletion by email as described above.

• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
• Removing the app from your device does not delete your account or data; you must request deletion as described on this page.
• If you only wish to disconnect from a facilitator or peer without deleting your account, you can do so from the Sharing & Privacy settings inside the app.
